Review on Wearable Thermoelectric Generators: From Devices to Applications

نویسندگان

چکیده

Wearable thermoelectric generators (WTEGs) can incessantly convert body heat into electricity to power electronics. However, the low efficiency of materials, tiny terminal temperature difference, rigidity, and neglecting optimization lateral transfer preclude WTEGs from broad utilization. In this review, we aim comprehensively summarize state-of-the-art strategies for realization flexibility high normalized density in by establishing links among TE performance, advanced design (structure, heatsinks, thermal regulation, analysis, etc.) based on inorganic bulk materials. Each section starts with a concise summary its fundamentals carefully selected examples. end, point out controversies, challenges, outlooks toward future development wearable devices potential applications. Overall, review will serve help materials scientists, electronic engineers, particularly students young researchers, selecting suitable

Wearable devices for telemedicine applications.

Wearable medical devices can provide both continuous monitoring and ubiquitous treatment. Challenges in this area include the need for a low-power/power-saving design to extend battery life and to reduce the size of the battery itself. This is followed by size and weight restrictions to meet patient expectations of what is 'wearable', the biocompatibility of all outer housings and the final ass...

Improvements to Solar Thermoelectric Generators

A solar thermoelectric generator (STEG) is a device which converts sunlight into electricity through the thermoelectric effect. A STEG is nominally formed when a thermoelectric generator (TEG), a type of solid state heat engine, is placed between a solar absorber and a heat sink. When the solar absorber is illuminated by sunlight, it heats up and the TEG is subjected to a temperature gradient. ...

Review on Polymers for Thermoelectric Applications

In this review, we report the state-of-the-art of polymers in thermoelectricity. Classically, a number of inorganic compounds have been considered as the best thermoelectric materials. Since the prediction of the improvement of the figure of merit by means of electronic confinement in 1993, it has been improved by a factor of 3-4. In the mean time, organic materials, in particular intrinsically...
